Aging in Brazil: Why Caregiving for the Elderly Is the Profession of the Future

The world is aging, and Brazil is part of this trend. Life expectancy, which was around 30 years in 1900, now exceeds 70. According to the 2022 IBGE Census, the country is home to over 32 million older adults—approximately 80 seniors for every 100 children.

Living longer is wonderful, but the body ages, and chronic illnesses can arise. It is precisely in this context that the profession of elderly caregiver has become one of the most important in the world: older adults need individuals who are trained, patient, and caring to help them age with health, dignity, and quality of life.

Caring for those who once cared for us is one of the noblest missions there is. And increasingly, this mission demands training, technical skills, and a sense of responsibility.
